Duncairn is an inner‑north Belfast ward in Northern Ireland, straddling parts of the Antrim Road corridor close to the New Lodge and within easy reach of the city centre. The area mixes rows of Victorian terraces with pockets of social housing and small local high streets, and benefits from the green backdrop of Cave Hill to the north.
Locally it’s known for a strong community life and creative activity, anchored by venues such as the Duncairn Centre for Culture and Arts, and a host of grassroots groups tackling regeneration and youth work. Historically a working‑class area that experienced significant tensions during the Troubles, it has seen steady community‑led renewal and remains a diverse neighbourhood with independent shops, pubs and active civic organisations.
