Oban South and the Isles covers the southern part of the town of Oban together with a scattering of nearby Inner Hebridean islands within Argyll and Bute in Scotland. The landscape is very coastal and maritime, with rocky shores, sheltered bays and regular ferry crossings that give the area a distinct island feel, including communities on Kerrera and Lismore.
As part of the wider Oban catchment the area mixes tourism - visitors setting out for the Inner Hebrides and attractions such as Oban Distillery and Dunollie Castle - with traditional livelihoods like fishing and crofting. Local life reflects strong Gaelic and coastal traditions, a fairly dispersed population and an economy reliant on hospitality, transport and public services, so connectivity and local services are ongoing concerns for residents.
