Pen-y-fai is a small village on the western edge of Bridgend in south Wales, tucked between rolling farmland and the M4 corridor. Its position close to countryside yet within easy commuting distance of Cardiff and Swansea gives it a semi-rural feel that appeals to families and people working in the nearby towns.
The village has a strong local community vibe centred on its village hall, school and sports clubs, and is perhaps best known locally for the nearby Bryngarw Country Park with woodland, lakes and restored Victorian gardens. Economically it is largely residential with a scattering of small businesses, while the surrounding landscape and parkland provide the village with a notable historic and recreational focus.
