Llanbradach is a small former mining village in the Rhymney Valley, within the county borough of Caerphilly in South Wales. It sits close to towns such as Bargoed and Ystrad Mynach, tucked into the valley landscape with ridgelines, pockets of reclaimed industrial land and local green spaces; it’s also within easy commuting distance of Cardiff via local roads and bus links.
Like many communities in the South Wales valleys, Llanbradach has a strong coal‑mining heritage that shaped its economy and built environment through the 19th and 20th centuries. Today the village combines remnants of that industrial past with a quieter, mixed economy and active local life - community groups, sports clubs (notably rugby), and village halls play an important social role as the area has adapted to post‑industrial change.
