Llanpumsaint is a small rural parish in Carmarthenshire, set in rolling upland countryside and wooded valleys a few miles from the River Gwili and the fringes of Brechfa Forest. The landscape is classic west Wales - mixed pasture and small farms - and attracts walkers and mountain bikers to quiet lanes and forest trails rather than mass tourism.
Its name literally means “church of five saints” and the parish retains a medieval church at its heart, reflecting long-standing local history and a strong sense of community. Economically the area remains largely agricultural with many residents commuting to larger towns such as Carmarthen, and Welsh language and rural customs remain an important part of village life.
