Prestatyn is a seaside town in Denbighshire, north Wales, sitting on the coast of the Irish Sea. It’s best known for long sandy beaches and a traditional promenade, and it marks the northern end of the Offa's Dyke Path while the North Wales Coast Path runs along the shore; the town also lies beneath the Clwydian Range, so it attracts both walkers and holidaymakers.
Historically a Victorian resort, Prestatyn still relies on tourism and local services, with a railway station on the North Wales Coast Line that makes commuting to Chester and other centres straightforward. Its compact high street, summer community events and easy access to coast and countryside give it a mix of seaside holiday culture and a largely residential, commuter town character.
