Dyserth is a compact village in Denbighshire, Wales, sitting on the lower slopes of the Clwydian Hills a short distance inland from the north‑coast town of Prestatyn. It’s best known for a pretty waterfall on the small river that runs through the village and for the dramatic faces of old quarries and limekilns on the hillside, which give the area a rugged, geological character popular with walkers and photographers.
Historically the village grew around quarrying and some mining and was once served by a short branch railway that carried stone; traces of that industrial past remain alongside a medieval church and traditional village centre. Today Dyserth is largely residential with a steady flow of visitors drawn to the waterfall, permissive footpaths and the nearby countryside, while a modest local community life of halls, pubs and events keeps the village active.
