Denbighshire is a unitary authority in north‑east Wales that runs from the sandy bays of the Irish Sea down into the rolling hills of the Clwydian Range. The county includes popular seaside towns such as Rhyl and Prestatyn, the fertile Vale of Clwyd carved by the River Clwyd, and upland country protected as the Clwydian Range AONB with peaks like Moel Famau offering classic walking and views.
Inland are historic market towns such as Denbigh and Ruthin, with castle ruins and a strong sense of local history; the economy mixes agriculture, tourism, light industry and public services. There is a noticeable Welsh‑speaking presence and lively community culture, while coastal resorts have been the focus of regeneration efforts and remain important for visitors. The area also sits within easy reach of larger centres such as Wrexham and Chester, which influence employment and services for local residents.
