Llanbedr is a small coastal community in Gwynedd, sitting on the western edge of Snowdonia National Park between Harlech and Barmouth. The landscape is a striking mix of broad sandy beaches and dunes by the sea, backed by the rugged Rhinog hills and moorland, making it popular with walkers, birdwatchers and anyone seeking a quieter base for exploring the coast and mountains.
Locally the economy still leans on farming and tourism, but the former RAF airfield nearby has brought new commercial interest and redevelopment for civilian aviation and light industry, which has shaped recent local debate. The community is small and largely Welsh-speaking, with a strong sense of place, historic buildings and a pattern of scattered farms, cottages and holiday homes common to rural west Wales.
