Rogiet is a small village and community in Monmouthshire, in south‑east Wales, lying just a few miles inland from the Severn Estuary. It sits between larger towns such as Caldicot and is close to the railway hub at Severn Tunnel Junction, which helped the village expand in the 19th and 20th centuries and now makes it a convenient commuter base for Newport, Cardiff and even Bristol.
The surrounding landscape includes the low, reclaimed marshes of the Caldicot Levels, valued for wildlife and walking, while locally Rogiet retains a quiet community feel with a primary school, village hall and modest local amenities. Its history stretches back well before the railway, but the transport links and proximity to the estuary have been the biggest influences on its economy and social development.
