Saundersfoot is a compact coastal village on the south coast of Pembrokeshire in Wales, set around a small working harbour and a wide sandy bay. It sits on the edge of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and the coastal path runs past cliffs and coves nearby, making it popular with walkers as well as families drawn to the beach and sheltered waters.
Historically it grew from a fishing hamlet into a coal-exporting port in the 19th century, and remnants of that industrial past are still visible around the harbour. Today tourism dominates the local economy - holiday lets, cafes, pubs and boat trips - while a lively community calendar of events and regattas keeps a clearly seasonal but sociable village life.
