Glantwymyn is a small, principally rural community in Powys, mid-Wales, lying along the banks of the River Twymyn in the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains. The area comprises scattered farms and small villages, including places such as Cemmaes and Cemmaes Road, and is characterised by rolling upland pasture, mixed forestry and quiet lanes that attract walkers and anglers as well as local hill farmers.
Economically and socially it retains a strong agricultural tradition, supplemented by small-scale tourism and heritage interest - there are traces of nineteenth-century railway and rural industry nearby - and an active community life centred on village halls and parish churches. Welsh language and local customs remain part of everyday life, giving the area a distinctly rural, close-knit character within Wales.
