Bro Dysynni is a largely rural ward in Gwynedd, Wales, centred on the valley and estuary of the Dysynni. It sweeps from the upland slopes beneath Cadair Idris and the southern fringes of Snowdonia National Park down to tidal marshes and sandbanks on Cardigan Bay near Tywyn, so the landscape mixes dramatic mountain scenery with coastal fen and estuary habitats.
The communities here are predominantly Welsh-speaking and the local economy rests on hill farming, small-scale coastal activity and tourism, with walkers, birdwatchers and beach visitors drawn to the riverside paths, estuary birdlife and quiet beaches. Local history is visible in scattered medieval churches and traditional cottages, and community life often revolves around village halls and events that sustain Welsh language and cultural traditions.
