Sharnbrook is an electoral ward in the borough of Bedford, north Bedfordshire, set beside the old coaching route of the Great North Road (now the A6). The ward combines a compact village centre of traditional cottages and inns with outlying housing and farmland, making it a recognisable commuter and rural community within easy reach of larger towns and Milton Keynes.
Historically the settlement has medieval roots and retains a conservation feel around its green and parish buildings, while more recent decades have seen growth around local services. A focal point for the wider area is Sharnbrook Academy, which alongside small businesses, pubs and clubs helps sustain a lively local social scene and a mix of agricultural and small-scale commercial activity.
