Bottom o' th' Moor is a small neighbourhood on the edge of Bolton, within Greater Manchester and historically part of Lancashire. The quaint name reflects its location at the lower end of former moorland, where urban neighbourhoods meet the surrounding countryside.
Like much of Bolton it was shaped by industrialisation, with Victorian terraces and local workshops giving way over time to a mixed residential area with modest shops and a strong local community feel. Today the area retains hints of its working‑class past while offering relatively easy access to both town amenities and nearby green spaces, and it has seen incremental regeneration rather than large‑scale redevelopment.
