The Highcliffe & Walkford electoral ward sits on the eastern edge of the unitary authority of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole in southern England. It takes in the coastal village of Highcliffe, known for its clifftop walks, sandy beaches and the striking landmark Highcliffe Castle, together with the more suburban and village-feel area of Walkford that backs onto heathland and lies close to Christchurch Harbour and the New Forest.
The area mixes a seaside, historic character with a largely residential economy: tourism, cafes and small independent shops sit alongside local services and commuters heading to larger nearby towns. Socially there is an active community life with conservation and heritage interests, watersports and coastal leisure attractions drawing visitors in summer, while the 19th-century heritage and gentle coastal scenery give the ward a distinctly mellow, genteel feel.
