Colehill is a largely residential parish on the northern edge of Dorset, immediately north of Wimborne Minster and within easy reach of Bournemouth. It sits close to the attractive Stour Valley and pockets of heathland and woodland, giving a mix of rolling countryside and suburban streets; the area is popular with commuters while still retaining green corridors, playing fields and small local shops.
Historically agricultural, Colehill now has a strong community feel with schools, a village hall and numerous clubs and societies, and a scattering of older cottages and houses that hint at its long past. The parish’s location close to the River Stour corridor and regional transport links makes it convenient for both leisure in the surrounding Dorset countryside and work in the nearby coastal towns.
