Silsden is a small town and civil parish in the metropolitan borough of Bradford in West Yorkshire, England. It sits in Airedale on the banks of the River Aire and close to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, with good rail and road links to Keighley, Skipton and Leeds. The surrounding landscape gives easy access to the eastern edge of the Yorkshire Dales, so it’s popular with walkers and cyclists.
Historically the town expanded with the textile industry and local quarrying, and Victorian mills and terraces remain alongside modern housing and light industry. There’s a lively local community with sports clubs, canal-side leisure and annual events, so it feels village-scale socially while functioning as a practical commuter and market-centre for the Aire valley.
