Chartridge is a small, rural parish in Buckinghamshire on the edge of the Chiltern Hills, a few miles from Chesham and Great Missenden. The area is typical Chiltern countryside - rolling farmland, beech woodland and quiet lanes - with a cluster of cottages and a village green that hint at medieval origins and a long agricultural past.
Today it is largely a residential and farming community with some small local businesses, equestrian activity and conservation-minded land use, while many residents commute to nearby towns or into London. Despite its proximity to transport routes, Chartridge retains a strong village feel, with a village hall and local events that keep a close-knit social life.
