Cholesbury is a small, attractive village in Buckinghamshire, perched on a chalk ridge in the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village is surrounded by beech woods, rolling arable fields and a network of public footpaths that link it to nearby towns such as Chesham and Tring, giving a strong rural character despite relatively easy access to London for commuters.
Historically the settlement is notable for Cholesbury Camp, an Iron Age hill fort and Scheduled Ancient Monument, and the village retains a number of traditional cottages and a small parish ambience. Farming once dominated the local economy; today a mix of local small businesses, farming and commuter households shape village life, supported by active community groups and occasional fetes and events that preserve its social cohesion.
