Radcliffe West is a ward in the Metropolitan Borough of Bury in Greater Manchester, covering the western side of the town of Radcliffe down towards the River Irwell and the green spaces of the Irwell Valley. The area bears traces of its past as a 19th‑century mill town - the nearby remains of Radcliffe Tower hint at a much older history - while much of the streetscape is characterised by Victorian terraces and former industrial sites.
Today the ward is a mix of long‑standing local communities and commuters who travel into Manchester and Bury, with local shops, schools and active community groups. Recent regeneration has seen some old mill and industrial land reused for housing and leisure, so the neighbourhood now balances its industrial heritage with accessible green spaces and suburban living.
