Emneth is a compact village on the northwestern edge of the low-lying Fenland district of Cambridgeshire in England, close to the Norfolk border and the market town of Wisbech. Its character comes from the mix of traditional village features - a parish church and community facilities - set against a landscape shaped by centuries of fen drainage; agriculture and market gardening remain important locally while many residents commute to nearby towns such as Wisbech and King's Lynn.
Elm is a larger, historically agricultural village in the same fenland mould, sited on the slightly higher ground that once made these settlements into “islands” in The Fens. The village combines active community life and local events with easy access to rich fenland wildlife, and its economy and identity are still closely tied to the distinctive flat, reclaimed landscape and farming traditions of Fenland.
