Newton-in-the-Isle is a small, low‑lying village and civil parish in the district of Fenland, in Cambridgeshire, England. Set in the characteristic landscape of The Fens, it is surrounded by wide, flat arable fields, a network of drains and ditches and the pumping infrastructure that made large‑scale farming possible; those fenland conditions shape both the economy and the look of the place.
Historically the community grew out of medieval settlement and later drainage schemes, so there are pockets of local heritage and a quietly rural social life rather than tourist attractions. Farming still dominates the local economy, while wildlife in the waterways and proximity to market towns such as March and Wisbech influence everyday life, services and leisure options for residents.
