Elton is a small village and civil parish in Huntingdonshire, within the county of Cambridgeshire in England, situated on the rural edge of Peterborough. Historically part of the old county of Huntingdonshire, it keeps a quiet, rural character while being within easy reach of larger towns, which makes it popular with commuters as well as local farmers.
The village is perhaps best known for Elton Hall, a historic country house set in parkland and gardens that draws visitors and gives the area a strong heritage identity. Beyond the estate, Elton remains largely agricultural with a small, close-knit community and the kinds of village amenities that support local life while nearby Peterborough provides wider services and employment.
