Hemingford Abbots is a small, picture-postcard village in the historic district of Huntingdonshire, Cambridgeshire, England, sitting by the south bank of the River Great Ouse. It sits close to its twin village Hemingford Grey and is within easy commuting reach of places such as St Ives and Huntingdon. The village owes its name to the medieval ownership by the abbots of Ramsey, and still shows that long history in a compact conservation area of thatched cottages, a medieval parish church and riverside meadows.
Today the character is largely residential with surrounding agricultural land, a handful of small local businesses and an active community using the village hall and local clubs; many residents commute to nearby towns or Cambridge. The floodplain setting and historic buildings make it popular with walkers and anyone interested in quiet riverside English village life.
