Balsham is a large village and civil parish in South Cambridgeshire, Cambridgeshire, England, sitting on the gentle chalk uplands near the border with Suffolk and about ten miles south‑east of Cambridge (with the market town of Haverhill close by). The settlement has a long history reflected in a medieval parish church and several listed buildings, and its landscape of arable fields and hedgerows still shows its agricultural roots.
Today Balsham is a lively rural community of a few thousand people with a primary school, pubs, sports clubs and a busy village hall hosting fetes and clubs; economically it combines local farming and small businesses with many residents commuting to Cambridge and beyond, giving it a mix of traditional village life and commuter‑belt character.
