Croydon is a small rural village and civil parish in South Cambridgeshire, within the county of Cambridgeshire in England. Set in gently undulating farmland on the approaches to Cambridge, it feels quietly tucked away from major roads, with hedged fields, footpaths and the pattern of arable agriculture that characterises much of the surrounding district.
Locally the settlement is best known for its village scale and historic character, with a parish church and a handful of older farmhouses and cottages reflecting medieval and later agricultural life. The community is largely residential and agricultural nowadays, while many residents have ties to the nearby city and its research and tech economy; village life revolves around occasional community events and church- or hall-based activities rather than large commercial or cultural institutions.
