Fulbourn is a village and civil parish in South Cambridgeshire, Cambridgeshire, England, lying roughly five miles south‑east of Cambridge. It occupies a pleasant position where the chalk of the Gog Magog Hills gives way to lower fenland; nearby Fulbourn Fen and surrounding meadows mean there are good local wildlife and walking opportunities as well as working arable farmland.
The village retains a medieval core with an ancient parish church and a number of historic houses, and its character has long been shaped by agriculture and local institutions. The presence of Fulbourn Hospital, a large 19th‑century psychiatric hospital on the edge of the village, has influenced employment and development, while today Fulbourn also functions as a lively local and commuter community with pubs, shops, clubs and annual events that keep a strong village spirit.
