Blunham is a small village in Central Bedfordshire set beside the River Ivel, close to the border with Cambridgeshire and a few miles east of Bedford. The village is notable for its waterside setting and a handsome historic stone bridge over the river, with a cluster of older cottages and former mill buildings that give a sense of its rural past amid the flat arable landscape.
Traditionally agricultural, Blunham today combines farming with a number of residents who commute to nearby towns, while retaining an active village community centred on the church, village hall and pub. Visitors and locals enjoy riverside walks, local history interest and occasional community events that reflect the village’s quiet, close‑knit character.
