Bridge

The Bridge ward sits at the eastern edge of the City of London, centred on London Bridge and the riverfront where the City meets Southwark. The location has a long history as the principal crossing into medieval London - the old bridge once carried houses and shops and shaped the ward’s identity - and today the area still feels historically layered despite modern redevelopment.

Economically and socially it is very much part of the Square Mile’s commercial heart, dominated by offices, river-side restaurants and heavy daytime footfall from commuters and tourists. The ward benefits from immediate proximity to attractions and markets across the river such as Borough Market, and landmarks like the Tower of London and views towards The Shard, while retaining the City’s distinctive ward governance and a relatively small resident community.
