Carharrack is a small village and civil parish in Cornwall, sitting on the margins of the old Gwennap mining district close to Redruth. It grew up in the 19th century with tin and copper mining, and the surrounding landscape still bears engine houses, spoil heaps and other industrial archaeology that tie it into the broader Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage area.
Today Carharrack feels like a tight-knit rural community with local clubs, a village hall and active interest in preserving its heritage, while many residents commute to nearby towns for work. The mix of industrial remnants and rolling Cornish countryside makes it appealing to walkers and those interested in mining history.
