Lanner is a village in west Cornwall, England, a short distance east of Redruth and set within the region's historic mining landscape. Its 18th–19th-century tin and copper workings have left engine houses and spoil heaps in the surrounding valley, giving the area a distinctive industrial character amid rolling Cornish countryside.
Today Lanner combines local amenities and a strong community spirit - pubs, a village hall and an active brass band are part of village life - while many residents commute to nearby centres such as Camborne and Truro. The blend of visible mining heritage, community events and easy access to countryside and coast makes it representative of small Cornish settlements with a proud local identity.
