St Day is a small parish and former mining village in central Cornwall, England, set amid the rolling moors and linear industrial remains between Redruth and Camborne. The parish sits within the old Gwennap mining district and still shows the imprint of that landscape in stone engine houses, spoil heaps and narrow lanes, giving it a rugged, rural-industrial character despite its closeness to larger towns.
Historically the area was a centre for copper and tin mining in the 18th and 19th centuries and is associated with notable sites such as Wheal Gorland; it forms part of the broader Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage context. Today St Day retains a strong local identity rooted in that heritage, with community life shaped by its industrial past, small-scale local services and interest from mineral collectors and heritage visitors.
