Denby Common

Denby Common is a small village in the borough of Amber Valley, Derbyshire, England, lying just outside the better-known village of Denby. It sits on rolling countryside that was historically common land, with footpaths and fields that give pleasant views across the valley and easy access to local walks.

The character of the area has been shaped by nearby clay and coal industries - most famously the long-standing pottery works in Denby - but today it is largely residential with a close-knit community, village amenities and occasional local events. Many residents commute to nearby towns such as Ripley or Derby, while the landscape still bears traces of its industrial and agricultural past.
