Weston upon Trent is a small village and civil parish in South Derbyshire, Derbyshire, set beside the meandering River Trent. The parish occupies low-lying floodplain and wetland, with a mix of arable farmland, riverside meadows and lakes created by past gravel extraction, making it popular with walkers and birdwatchers and giving the lanes a distinctly rural, waterside character.
The settlement has medieval roots and a compact village centre with a historic parish church and a handful of traditional houses and community facilities; its past was shaped by river trade and farming. Today it remains largely residential and agricultural, with many residents commuting into Derby and nearby towns, while local life revolves around the church, village hall and occasional community events.
