Woodbury is a small village and civil parish in East Devon, Devon, England, sitting a few miles south‑east of Exeter and just inland from Exmouth. It retains a compact village centre of stone and thatch with a pub, a primary school and a village hall, and while many residents commute into nearby towns the area still retains a strong agricultural and community character.
The parish is best known for Woodbury Common and the nearby Iron Age earthworks of Woodbury Castle, a sandstone ridge that gives wide views to the coast and estuary and attracts walkers, birdwatchers and cyclists. Historically the landscape shaped local farming, estate activity and small‑scale industry, and today the mix of countryside, heritage and easy access to larger centres makes the village popular with visitors and families seeking a rural base within reach of the city.
