Nether Compton is a small village and civil parish in Dorset, set in gently rolling countryside roughly between the market towns of Sherborne and Yeovil. It retains an unspoilt character of honey‑coloured stone and thatch cottages, a parish church with medieval origins and a number of period country houses and gardens that hint at the area's long rural history.
The local economy is still rooted in agriculture, though many residents commute to nearby towns; the village is valued for its scenery, quiet lanes and community spirit, with occasional local events and visitors drawn to its historic buildings and peaceful setting typical of rural Dorset.
