West Moors is a village in Dorset, England, set on low heathland a few miles north of Bournemouth and Poole and close to Ferndown and the edge of the New Forest. It sits beside Moors Valley Country Park, so woodland, cycling trails and open heath are immediate local attractions, while good road links make larger towns such as Southampton and Bournemouth reachable for commuting or days out.
The settlement expanded with 19th‑ and 20th‑century railway and forestry activity and today combines a quiet village feel with a busy community life: local shops, schools, sports clubs and village events are important socially, while the local economy is largely a mix of small businesses, forestry and commuter income from nearby urban centres. Historical traces of its railway and timber past still shape the layout and character of the village.
