Bishop Burton and Cherry Burton are neighbouring villages a few miles east of Beverley in the gently rolling countryside of the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Both sit on the northern fringe of the Yorkshire Wolds and have a distinctly rural, agricultural feel while being handy for larger centres such as Hull and York, which makes them popular with commuters as well as local farmers.
Bishop Burton is best known for its long-established land‑based college and equine facilities and for the attractive estate and historic village core, while Cherry Burton has a strong village community with a church, school and local groups and was once served by the York–Beverley railway line before mid‑20th century closures. Between them the villages combine farming and countryside leisure with a lively village life and a number of listed buildings and traditional cottages that reflect the area’s history.
