Swine is a small rural village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, set on the rolling chalk of the Yorkshire Wolds. It has a tiny, close-knit community centred on the parish church and village hall, with an agricultural landscape of farms and hedged fields that reflects centuries of rural life and contains several traditional and listed buildings.
Within easy reach of the heritage coast around Flamborough Head and the seaside town of Bridlington, and not far from market centres such as Driffield, the area attracts walkers, cyclists and countryside visitors as well as residents who commute to nearby towns. Local life is coloured by farming, low-key tourism and occasional community events, giving it a peaceful, historically rooted character.
