Ulrome is a small coastal village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, on the eastern edge of the low-lying agricultural area known as Holderness. It sits close to the North Sea, a few miles south of Flamborough Head and within easy reach of the Victorian seaside town of Bridlington, and is marked by the same rapidly changing cliffs and shoreline that characterise this part of the coast.

The local economy is largely agricultural with a quiet thread of tourism and holiday accommodation, and the community retains a rural, village atmosphere. There are historic echoes in the landscape - including the nearby former wartime airfield at Lissett - and ongoing conversations about coastal erosion and defence make conservation and land use important local concerns.
