Hatfield Peverel is a village and civil parish in the district of Braintree, Essex, England, lying in the valley of the River Ter roughly between Chelmsford and Witham. It has its own railway station on local services of the Great Eastern route and close access to the A12, which makes it a popular commuter base for Chelmsford and London.
The settlement has a clearly historic core - a medieval St Andrew’s Church, timber-framed buildings and the site of a former medieval priory linked to the Peverel family give the village a long heritage. Contemporary life mixes this historic feel with active community amenities: a primary school, pubs, sports clubs and annual fetes, while the local economy blends village services with many residents travelling to nearby towns for work.
