Wickham Bishops and Woodham lie within the rural district of Maldon in Essex, England, set amid rolling mid-Essex countryside a short drive from the market towns of Witham and Chelmsford and within easy reach of the Blackwater Estuary.
The area is characterised by farmland, orchards, timber-framed cottages and historic parish churches, with village life centred on local pubs, village halls and annual fetes; economically it remains largely agricultural with many residents commuting to nearby towns, and there is a strong community and conservation-minded feel reflected in listed buildings, footpaths and active parish groups.
