Eight Ash Green is a small village and civil parish in the borough of Colchester, Essex, England. The name is thought to come from a historic cluster of ash trees around a central green, and the settlement retains a largely rural character with a mix of older cottages and more modern homes clustered around a modest village centre.
Situated close to the A12, the village has good road links for commuters travelling into Colchester and beyond, while the surrounding countryside remains agricultural. Community life is quiet but active, centred on the village hall, local events and nearby pubs and shops in neighbouring villages rather than on commercial industry.
