Mundon is a small rural village and civil parish in the district of Maldon, Essex, lying close to the salt marshes of the Blackwater estuary. The surrounding landscape of fen and grazing marsh makes it a quiet spot for birdwatching and nature interest, with narrow lanes, scattered farmsteads and views across the tidal creeks.
Although tiny, Mundon has a long history reflected in its medieval church, St Mary’s, and a handful of historic houses and agricultural buildings; the local economy remains largely agricultural with many residents commuting to nearby towns. The community is tight-knit and characterful, prized for its peaceful rural setting rather than commercial activity.
