Eastcliff is a coastal ward in the district of Tendring, on the eastern edge of Clacton-on-Sea in Essex, facing the North Sea. It occupies part of the town’s seafront and hinterland, with a promenade, sandy beaches and the familiar mix of Victorian and mid‑20th century housing that characterises much of the Clacton seafront.
Locally the economy is shaped by tourism and local services - guesthouses, cafes and seasonal amusements sit alongside everyday shops and community facilities - and the population includes a sizeable number of long‑term residents and retirees. The area’s history as a seaside resort, together with ongoing issues such as coastal defence and occasional regeneration initiatives, gives it a vivid character that combines resort‑town nostalgia with contemporary community concerns.
