St. James is an electoral ward in Tendring, Essex, England. It occupies a largely residential patch of the district with a mix of Victorian and later housing, small parades of local shops and community facilities; like much of Tendring it feels the influence of the nearby east coast in its character and economy.
The ward has a typically mixed social profile, with family households alongside a significant older population, local voluntary groups and parish organisations playing an active role. Historically its identity is rooted in the development of seaside towns in the area, and today local priorities often focus on housing, access to services and modest regeneration to support the retail and service sectors that sustain the community.
