Bream is a village on a wooded ridge in the northern part of the Forest of Dean district of Gloucestershire, England. It overlooks the Severn Estuary and on clear days affords long views towards South Wales; historically the settlement grew up around small‑scale coal mining, ironworking and stone quarrying, and traces of pits, tramways and quarry faces still punctuate the local landscape.
Today Bream is largely residential with a strong community spirit - sports clubs, a village hall and local shops - while many people commute to nearby towns such as Gloucester. The surrounding mix of woodland and farmland, together with the area’s industrial heritage, makes it popular with walkers and those interested in rural and mining history.
