Milkwall is a small village on the western edge of the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire, England, a short distance from Coleford. It occupies a landscape of ancient woodland, old quarries and former workings, and is well placed for walkers and mountain bikers heading into the Forest and the nearby Wye Valley.
Historically the settlement grew up around 19th‑century ironworking, coal and stone extraction and shares the Forest’s distinctive Free Miners traditions. Today it is largely residential with a modest tourism and outdoor‑recreation economy, and retains a strong local community feel with traditional cottages and village activities.
