Cam is a large village in the district of Stroud, in Gloucestershire, England. It sits at the foot of the Cotswolds escarpment close to the River Cam and the neighbouring town of Dursley, and is served by Cam and Dursley railway station with easy road access to the M5, making it popular with commuters to Bristol and Gloucester.
Historically the village grew around 18th–19th century mills and the local manufacturing heritage is still visible in former mill buildings and workers’ terraces; today the economy is a mix of light industry, local businesses and commuter households. Cam retains a strong community feel with sports clubs, churches and regular local events, and benefits from ready access to the countryside of the Cotswolds and the nearby Stroud valleys.
